Vel Institute was started in 2007 by the veteran Mr.T.Valayapathi. It had more than 50 branches across Tamil Nadu. The institute runs under Thangapappa Educational Trust. Vel is focused on Skill development courses like Computer Training, Nursing, Tailoring, Spoken English classes and coaching for competitive exams.

Thousands of students have uplifted and working many software companies and hospitals as the case may be. Vel usually gives 50-75% scholarships to weaker section students. Vel has very talented faculties and tutors.
